MEET KATE
Hi, I’m Kate, founder of KPL Performance — a space built on science, experience, and a genuine drive to help people move and feel better.
My journey began with a deep love for horses and movement. I hold an FdSc in Sports Horse Management & Training and a BSc in Equine Sports Science, where I first became fascinated by biomechanics — particularly the connection between a rider’s body and their horse’s movement. This passion led me to complete my UKCC Level 2 in Equestrian Coaching and spend several years working on professional yards and freelancing as a riding coach.
Over time, I realised I wanted to support riders — and non-riders — in a more hands-on, lasting way. My own experience with persistent injuries introduced me to soft tissue therapy, and it was a game changer. I retrained, qualified in Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapy, and launched my business to help others overcome pain, improve performance, and maintain long-term movement health.
Since then, my knowledge and approach have evolved. Strength training deepened my understanding of how the body moves and adapts — but it was Reformer Pilates that brought everything together. I was drawn to its precision, challenge, and ability to deliver targeted, prescriptive movement for real, long-lasting change. Trained with STOTT, I now use Pilates as a powerful tool to support better alignment, build strength, and prevent injury — not just for athletes, but for anyone serious about moving well.
At KPL Performance, I combine hands-on therapy, movement coaching, and practical experience to support clients of all backgrounds — from elite riders and athletes to everyday people ready to move with less pain and more purpose.
